PILATES MOVES IN THE BACK ROW

There is a vast array of moves that are part of Pilates. As is the case with any other type of exercise, these moves range in difficulty from very easy to very difficult. Perhaps you’ve considered taking a Pilates class, but you’re a little shy. If so, then we would like to suggest that you just stay in the back row. In any exercise class, Pilates included, the back row is filled with people who haven’t yet reached the point of total confidence in their abilities. Once you’ve gotten used to things, you can move up if you want to. At least you will have gotten started.

Excuses, Excuses

Of course, being shy isn’t the only excuse you might have for not wanting to sign up for a Pilates class. You might also be a little concerned that you’re too old. Fortunately, you don’t have to be concerned about this at all. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of places that offer Pilates classes targeted to specific age groups in the first place. Plus, you shouldn’t forget that even in a class open to students of all ages, you can always practice your Pilates moves in the back row. If you still don’t want to sign up for a class, most of the moves can be done at home, too.

Taking it Easy

With regard to the moves themselves, it’s important to sign up for a class specifically targeted to beginners if you don’t have any previous Pilates experience. In a more advanced class, the awkward feeling you get from not being sure whether or not you’re doing the moves correctly will likely be even more intense. Plus, in a beginner’s class, you’ll get more focused help from the instructor that will help you build a more solid foundation for advancing in Pilates. Even if you’re getting started at home, you should master the easier moves before moving onto the more difficult ones. Otherwise, you might hurt yourself.
